Orbs...Here's a thought!

During my research for "WRAITH," I took a ghost hunting tour in St. Augustine, Florida, where the story takes place. I love these things! I spent most of the time getting the total creepsies...whoo-hoo! The tour guide was great, explained all the equipment that is used by investigators, and knew his stuff when it came to orb photography----he taught us the difference between an actual orb and dust, humidity or light reflections, encouraged us to only snap pictures when we had a gut feeling, and explained how to use both a temperature gauge and emf detector to back up those feelings. Both my husband and I got some great shots, including this one of "The Boy in the Tree" at one of the cemeteries in town. He comes out for women of a certain age...harumph...motherly types, always hanging out in this tree. (I've got a story for this boy rattling around in my head!)

Thing is, I've looked online all over the place and nobody seems to have come up with what I am about to posit....If you look at this orb closely, you will see that there are concentric circles within it. Most of the really clear ones I've captured are like this. Now, if you know about the energy fields or auras that surround us, you know that there are seven layers. Well, guess, what! On these orbs, I have counted seven layers!...what if orbs are simply the energy fields compacted...no physical body to circle?

Interesting, no?

A Sign of Spring

I saw this first, young cherry tree of the season, recently planted in Central Park the other day and can't wait to see the rest of them, their pink frosting-tipped limbs arcing over the trail.

Almost there...

Hello, all! I am halfway through the third revision of my new novel, "Wraith", which I will be releasing into the world at the end of the month. Thank you to all who have given me feedback on it-there was nary a bad comment in the lot!

There are some things that need a-fixin' in that there book. MMMM...but when it's done, I am gonna be one happy chickie! I just love me a good ghostie tale. readin' em', writin' em'...don't matter atall.....

Next on the agenda....I have decided to spend a little time (a month or so) on my short fiction. I'm going to send out a bunch of queries to all the horror zines I've found, and see if I can get some page space.

After that, I will begin on the next two books. I feel a bunch of sales coming on, do ya feel it? Hallelujah and pass the peas!

I am looking forward to my writer's retreat weekend in Chicago with the lovely Lisa of the Wind and Mary of the Mountains in May.

Cheers!
Sam
